Friday Fun

Friday, March 25, 2011

Since it is Friday and in honor of my little herb seedlings, which are just sprouting! (Aren't they cute?) I wanted to feature some delicious looking cocktails made with herbs from Martha Stewart! There are lots on her website and in last month's planting issue of Martha Steward Living but here are my favorites! (click the photos for the full recipes!)

Frozen watermelon cubes double as ice in your drink!

I love any mojtios and these honeydew ones look amazing!

Okay, so these don't officially have any alcohol in them but they are so darn cute... Plus, I know you, you are creative, you will figure out to spruce these right up!

I am very happy it is Friday, even though I had Monday off, this week seems like it has crawled by. The weather promises more rain around here but Mitchell and I are taking a mini vacation to SF so cross your fingers we get at least a few hours of sun! What are your exciting weekend plans? It must be sunny somewhere right?

Thanks for the great drink ideas! I am going to have to try one of these this weekend :) And you have motivated me to start my own little herb garden! Too cute! Have a great weekend with Mitchell in SF!

Cute little seedlings! None of the drinks sound like my kind of drink exactly, but the watermelon one is really pretty! :) My exciting weekend involves one of my best friends from high school coming to visit me. The funny part is, one of her friends went to high school with one of my roommates, so both of them are coming up to visit us. It'll be a tiny high school reunion of sorts. Haha. Have a great weekend!

Hi Julie- these drinks sound YUM! They look like fun summer beverages to drink by the pool... I so wish it wasn't snowing! :(

So I had a question for you... I tried to get on Pinterest but I had to request an invite and there's a WAITING LIST! If I'm invited by someone does that mean I get in? I'm so confused I feel like the ugly chick not being let into the club! LOL

Your herbs are so sweet and that basil watermelon cocktail is ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT at 11 am-thanks!

I'll keep my fingers crossed that SF gives you a little sun-so far it's been nothin' but rain, although it's been clear this morning!

Just stumbled onto your cute blog-- love that you are growing herbs! I wish I could do that...my husband and I move every three months with his job and only bring our clothes and a few choice items. Toting an herb garden wouldn't work out. BUMMER.

Also, love those drink ideas. I have seen some where people take an ice cream scoop and make little balls from musk melon/watermelon,etc. It is a perfect little touch to make the drink look fancy.

Love your blog!

Oh wow, that watermelon basil margarita looks amazing. It makes me think of nice warm weather which is not here at he moment! Hmmm, I'm really good at killing plants, but some little herbs would be so nice to have!
