I did a little searching myself and found these amazingly cool first editions of Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights by Charlotte and Emily Bronte I would just kill to have. I won't break your heart with the prices but lets just say I won't be adding these to my collection anytime soon.

This gorgeous set below is the complete works of Jane Austen and while I am partial to the Bronte sisters books (Maybe because I can relate to the big amount of crazy in their stories?), what girl doesn't like a good, old-fashioned, Jane Austen love story? I would definitely take one or two (or all) of these beautiful first editions to display on my bookshelf.

Does anyone have a collection like this? What authors would you collect if you did?
I need some ideas!

I love old books, but I don't have a collection. I do have the copies of my mom's Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre. It's so much fun to pass books down through the generations. Happy collecting. :)
Wow, priceless. Love old books... I wonder what will be the coveted first editions from our generation hundreds of years from now? And will they even be in traditional book form. Not as romantic to collect Kindles and iPads...
Salinger, definitely.
I've also always wanted to complete my set of Sweet Valley High books. One day....
:)
oh my gosh, this is so great! i am a HUGE book nerd, that question is so hard to answer!
I collect David Sedaris books. They aren't old, and I only have one hard cover. But, they are my favorite books and there isn't one of his that I don't own.
Hoarding old books would be so much more awesome, though.
Does my collection of the Harry Potter books count? Haha. I would love to say that there's one author's works I would collect, but I'm having a hard time coming up with one. Maybe because, as ashamed to say it as I am, I don't think there's an author whose entire works I've read. I have some in mind though. For when I finish school and have a little more time. I've read quite a lot of Poe's work, and certainly wouldn't mind having that whole collection. I'd also like to read/own all of Shakespeare's works. Among others.
And The Great Gatsby is one of my favorite books. So is Wuthering Heights. :)
I know this is sad, but I had no clue what Wuthering Heights was about, but I saw a TV adaption of it on Netflix and watched it the other day under the impression it was along the lines of Jane Austen.... boy was I confused! haha. :) Definitely crazy... but I kind of like that, too. These are some really cool collections. :)
I actually have a wonderful collection of the Uncle Wiggily childrens' series from my Grammie and Grampie. They are very old and have the same wear and tear (and probably the same smell) as the books in the pictures above. I also have all the Laura Ingalls Wilder books my mom and dad read to us when we were young:)
Wow, this is awesome! I don't think I would even know where to begin!
I am in love with books! I think this would be an amazing collection to have. :)
I don't know what author I would collect though...maybe certain books. Doctor Zhivago and Kate Chopin's The Awakening.
Have a great week!

I can't think of anything better than a vintage collection of Jane Austin. Not only would they look fantastic on the shelf but they would be so much fun to read!!

I love the smell of old books!
Wow...what beautiful books! I'd love to have a first edition copy! : )
What a wonderful idea! While I have collected all the published Fitzgeralds, I think only one of them is a first edition. John, on the other hand, bought a collection of Mark Twain's complete works in a vintage shop, and they're amazing!
Oh my...those old books are too beautiful. Imagine all of the hands that have touched and read through them over the years...hello amazing-ness and HISTORY! WOW! xx Cat
if there is a book i really really love i always buy it first edition so one day it will look like this
