Photographer Love

Even before I got engaged I knew one of the most important things at my wedding would be the photographer. Everyone says the day flies by so it was important to me to have great photos I can look back on to remember the day. As soon as we found our venue and date I started doing excessive research into photographers and met with a few in the area. I was hesitant to commit to any of them until we met with James Moes and instantly fell in love with his photos.

We are so excited to have an official photographer and to take our engagement photos this Friday! Here are so more of James' amazing photos so you can see how easy it was to make the decision to have him shoot our wedding day!

P.S. I know I said I would pick the winner for my stamp giveaway today but I am giving everyone one more day to enter! So if you haven't entered yet, hurry up!

Our Engagement Party

My parents and Mitchell's parents threw us a fabulous engagement party this weekend in my parents backyard. My college friends (and bridesmaids) from San Diego flew in for the party and weekend and we invited a whole backyard of family and friends to celebrate with us!

Mitchell and me with my Grandma!

The morning of the party we went to the Saratoga Farmers Market and picked up flowers for all the tables

Sorry about the picture overload post, I usually try to keep them to a minimum but Mitchell and I both had such an amazing day and weekend, I couldn't help share it all! So many people we loved could come to the party, the backyard looked like a dream (I wish it were big enough for the wedding!), and it was so nice seeing my friends for the first time since we have gotten engaged. I can't wait for more wedding fun!

Getting engaged means you have a lot of fun parties to go to, pictures to take, and people to look good for. I want to put together an outfit like this for Mitchell and my engagement photos and/or party. I love the pale pink skirt and heart necklace for me and I totally have a thing for guys in boat shoes and sweaters :)

P.S. Want to create your own outfit for What I Wish I Were Wearing Wednesday? email me at lovejulieblog@gmail.com!

{House of Turquoise}

For my wedding I think I want to have all white flowers with lots of greenery. I love how simple and clean all white with just a touch of green looks for a wedding! Very classic, don't you think?

And speaking of weddings, we are starting to look into photographers right now for our spring wedding in San Fransisco and I am having trouble finding one we just love. Does anyone have any suggestions for Bay Area photographers they would recommend?

A Little Help From My Friends

Mitchell I spent a good part of the wedding going over all the different things we do and don't want at our wedding. There is so much to think about and consider it is a little overwhelming!

Just Married Banner

So I want to get some help from all you lovely blogging friends! I want to know what you think and what you did. What were your favorite parts of your wedding, what are you happy you spent money on, or what parts do you wish you had changed? Tell me everything!

Not married? What were your favorite parts of weddings you have been to or what are you planning for your own? I can't wait to hear all your wonderful thoughts!

The Ring

A few people have wanted to see a close up of my ring and it is so gorgeous, I am happy to show it! I still feel a little shocked every time I look down and see it on my left hand.

Mitchell and I had looked at rings a while back and this is the ideal combination of all the ones we liked. I love the square cut diamond and I think the tiny white gold band is just plain perfect! I actually love the thinness of the band so much I don't I want a wedding band, I want to wear it just like this forever! I can do that, right?

Mitchell and I just got back from a very fun, very surprising weekend in Half Moon Bay where he asked me to marry him! It was all very romantic and I can't wait to tell all the details and show some more pictures of the weekend tomorrow!

Also, I am honored to be a part of Christianna's amazing interview series, Any Friend of Mine on her wonderful blog, The Girl with the Blue Bow! Check me out here!

St. Patrick's Day

I am not a huge fan of St. Patrick's Day. Not that I have anything directly against it but I just have never had a raging good time on the day and I'm not Irish so I guess I just don't feel all the love. Maybe part of the problem is also the fact that I don't live in a city where they dye their river green.

So this year I decided to hunt for some St. Patrick's Day fun that could get me in the "Kiss Me I'm Irish" spirit. Here are some things I found that are really making me change my tune.

These Design Sponge, DIY, leprechaun spirit bottles make me want to have a party just to have a reason to pass these out. They would also be cute (in a non alcoholic version of course) for a St. Patrick's Day classroom party!)

Aren't these "how lucky" cards so simple and sweet? They are blank on the inside too so you could use them for invitations, thank you notes, or anything else, even if its not St. Patrick's Day!

Irish Coffee with whipped cream, guaranteed good time

This is another cute idea for a St. Patrick's Day party, I love the idea of putting little shamrocks as decoration. There is a delicious Irish Creme flavored version too!

And lastly is this wonderfully done St Patrick's Day wedding. I love the way she used the green and white theme in a very un-tacky way and the little shamrock place holders are so darn cute I can't stand it. See many more pictures here.

I hope everyone is having a great St. Patrick's day! Does anyone do anything fun and exciting for the holiday?

Lemon Inspiration

I think a bowl full of lemons in a sunny room is just the the prettiest thing. And since it is a dreary, rainy sort of Monday (at least here in northern California) I thought I would share a few pictures to hopefully brighten your day!

{Images: 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th}

Don't they just cheer you right up?

How about these gorgeous lemon inspired wedding pictures? I love the easy breezy feel of the lemons on that little table in a field. And it would be so cheap and easy to do yourself!

I hope everyone is having a great start to the week!
