What I Wish I Were Wearing Wednesday

I am back for another Wednesday dream outfit! Before you check out my What I Wish I Were Wearing Wednesday, make sure you have seen my guest post for the week and checked out Leslie's fabulous, laid back look.

I am going to visit some friends with Mitchell this weekend and this little springtime outfit is what I wish I were going to be wearing. I especially love the striped cardigan, it may somehow find its way from my dream closet to my regular closet soon. The sunglasses and JCrew tote are a must for a day at the beach and the sparkly gold flats are pretty lovely too, don't you agree?

What I Wish I Were Wearing Wednesday {Guest Post: Leslie: Fresh Out of Lemons}

Today I am ultra-super excited to introduce one of my favorite bloggers, Leslie, from Fresh Out of Lemons!  Her wonderfully written blog is full of funny/touching stories and great advice! After you have seen her dream outfit, go check her out! Or if you are totally inspired by her look, go take a look at her style pinboard!

Great style makes my stomach flutter.  When I'm earning the kibble money (ie- in the office), my clothes usually have LOFT, Banana Republic, or J. Crew labels.  However, if I'm honest, I always wish I were wearing this:

In fact, this is pretty much what you'll find me in on the weekend.  I own that exact Dinosaur Jr. shirt and would love to add the blog-tee to my collection.  Abercrombie makes the best jean and shorts.  Substitute Jailhouse Brewing Company for the Heineken patch on the baseball hat.  Substitute the sunglasses if I'm not wearing the hat.  Old Navy flip flops on my feet.  Classic casual.

Let Them Eat Cupcakes

I made these cupcakes for my aunt's 50th birthday this weekend - they turned out pretty cute don't you think? This spring I am loving yellow and gray so I used cupcake holders from here and toothpicks with yellow tape to make the flags. And, I was so happy to have a birthday to bake something for because it meant I got to use the buttermilk leftover from my homemade butter. 

Ill tell you the secret of how to make cupcakes from a box taste totally homemade and extra delicious. Follow the recipe on the box but instead of water, use that amount of buttermilk and always use three eggs, even if the box says to only use two. I promise, people will not even know what hit them when they try your cupcakes, they are so much better!

These were pretty easy to throw together and you could do them with any color combination, I think they will be my go-to dessert for parties and birthdays! (Forget you read this when you get the same ones next month, Dad!)

Braided

I love braids. I love them for weddings, days at the beach, bars with friends, or Sunday morning breakfasts. Braids are definitely my go-to hair style when I wake up late and don't have time for a curler or flat iron but don't want to look like a complete mess the entire day.

On an unrelated note, my weekend was fabulous. The weather in San Fransisco was beautiful and I and came home from the game with a sunburn!

Quick Weekend Thank You

 

I am on my way to a fun-filled weekend in Santa Cruz and San Fransisco but I wanted to give everyone a big hug and thank you for all your great input on my new buttons! I really, really appreciate you all and loved reading what you thought. What great blogging friends I have :) Since there was almost unanimous support for the bike button, I am going to put that up as soon as I have some time!

What I Wish I Were Wearing Wednesday {continued!}

I just couldn't stay away for long, there are too many clothes to pin and outfits to polyvore to just let my fabulous guest posters have all the fun! So here is an extra dose of what I wish I were wearing this week!

I am going to Santa Cruz to visit some of my favorite antique shops again this weekend and while the weather here is starting to show signs of spring no such luck for Santa Cruz.  But that is ok, I can wait. For this weekend I will make do with these amazing boots and nautical striped sweater! And I love the look of that rose gold watch - so pretty!

Hello! I'm Haley from Cardigan Junkie. Many thanks for Julie for letting me stop in and share what I wish I was wearing this Wednesday.

Since wedding season will be here before we know it, I had fun putting together the girliest, most spring-tastic outfit I could find. In real life, I don't go to enough events that warrant dresses and accessories like these but I sure wish that I did!

If money were no object, I'd buy this pink printed Shoshanna dress since it's a huge departure from my usual style and then add basic slingbacks, a Lauren Merkin clutch, and statement necklace from Amrita Singh.

Meet Abby

You might have seen this really small, cute child in various pictures around my blog. (maybe here, here, and here) Here is her formal induction to the blogging world. 

This is Abigail, the 19 month old I watch all week. I mentioned I am getting my teaching credential and being a nanny is the perfect job for working on school since most days she naps for almost three hours. An added bonus is that she is hilarious and we do fun things like road trips, picnics, and lunch dates.
